June 29, 2007 – New York, N.Y. — The Italian ‘Oscar’ for excellence in  automotive photography was awarded in Rome to photographer Renato Zacchia, on June 8, 2007.  Zacchia’s image of Maserati’s newest model, the GranTurismo, won this year’s prize .  The prize, in honor of photo-journalist Pier Francesco Malaguti, promotes the best image taken for automobile media campaign.  The Italian awards or ‘Oscars’, are given annually during the opening ceremonies for the International Motor Show in Rome, Italy.  Top prizes include ‘Best Car Photo’ (Oscar della Fotografia),  ‘Best Car Model’ (Oscar dell’Automobile ), and  ‘Best Television Ad Campaign’ (Oscar della Pubblicità Televisiva), among others.
